However the one I played last week when I was shopping for my Goldtop had a very muddy sound, so again it depends on the individual guitar. Getting a rewind like Endzone did is not a bad idea, but I personally don't feel the need to on mine. I wouldn't change the neck pickup on mine for anything, and I finally got the bridge pickup to sound the way I want. The buzzing bridge retainer wire is easily fixed with nail polish or a dab of glue.Ībout the pickups: Epi p90s apparently have better reviews than Epi humbuckers. I don't have any complaints about the pots, except that the indicator pointer doesn't exactly line up with the 10 on the knob. I haven't replaced mine yet, I don't notice it in a band setting. The switches on Epiphones are notorious for this, no big deal. The switch crackles slightly when changing positions, but that is after a year of use. I adjusted the bridge pickup height and left everything else stock. You nailed it! I've played crappy Casinos, but the one I went home with has a sound and neck like no other.
